Each of us has a goal to reach whether good or bad.
Let us consider some characteristics in Paul's life that made him the success he was for God.
PAUL WAS A CONCERNED MAN - ROMANS 9:1-3.
Context of the book.
We must also be concerned for others.
PAUL WAS A CONSIDERATE MAN - PHILIPPIANS 1:3-8.
Notice the intense consideration for those he loved.
PAUL WAS A MAN OF HUMILITY.
I Timothy 1:15 - "Faithful is the saying and worthy of all acceptation, that
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief."
We need to realize that we are nothing compared to God.
I Corinthians 1:31 - "He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord."
PAUL WAS WILLING TO BE A SERVANT.
II Timothy 1:3 - "I thank my God, whom I serve..."
Philippians 1:1 - "Paul and Timothy, servants of Jesus Christ..."
Jesus came to serve - Mark 10:45 - "For the Son of Man also came not to be
ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many."
We are servants of sin or God - Romans 6:15-18.
PAUL WAS A BOLD MAN.
I Thessalonians 2:2 - most of us would be scared.
PAUL WAS A CONFIDENT MAN.
Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things..."
Where is our dependence?
PAUL WAS A COURAGEOUS MAN.
Galatians 2:11-14 - Peter rebuked.
Paul would not tolerate false teaching (by example)
PAUL WAS A DETERMINED MAN.
PAUL WAS A GOAL SETTER - ALWAYS READY TO GO.
PAUL WAS A MOTIVATOR.
PAUL WAS PERSISTENT.
Acts 16 - while in jail he preached.
Philippians 1 - while in jail he preached.
PAUL WAS A POSITIVE THINKER.
Romans 8:31ff. "What shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?"
Again, Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all..."
PAUL WAS CONTENT.
Philippians 4:11 - "Not that I speak in respect of want; for I have learned,
in whatsoever state I am, therein to be content."
PAUL WAS A MAN OF FAITH.
Knew who was in control.
Knew his job.
Faith child after Abraham - Romans 4.
PAUL WAS SUCCESSFUL.
II Timothy 4:7-8 - "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I
have kept the faith; henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness
which the Lord the righteous judge, shall give to me at that day; and not to me
only, but also to all them that have loved his appearing."
Do we have these qualities in our lives?
Do we really strive for what is right?
Are you imitators of Christ together with Paul? (Philippians 3:17)
