A Study of Second Peter 1:5-9
BROTHERLY KINDNESS (LOVE)
Lesson Seven of Eight
Every effort is to be made in our part to add these qualities to our faith.
Everyone needs friendship. More than that though, we need to seek and develop friendship from among our own family in the Lord.
Brotherly-kindness - PHILADELPHIA - from a compound word. PHILEO and ADELPHOS.
PHILEO - is to be distinguished from AGAPEO in this, that PHILEO more nearly represents
tender affection. PHILEO is never used in a command for men to love God.
ADELPHOS - brother
Thus, brotherly love... being a true friend to your brother.
