CROWNING THE CHRIST
They crowned Jesus with a crown of thorns.
They dishonored; mocked Him.
A crown stood for, or symbolized:
Kingship - King Jesus.
Rule of Authority - Jesus is "Lord".
Victory - all victory goes to Jesus.
If one were to have asked the Jews or the Roman soldiers in Jerusalem 2000 years ago how
to "Crown The Christ", they would have said, "With a crown of thorns."
Today, let's notice four ways that we can "Crown The Christ."
BY LIVING GODLY LIVES.
Jesus stood against ungodliness - they killed Him for it.
Live as God.
Pure - people notice.
Holy - different.
Righteous and just - with fellow man.
Love - toward all men.
We are Christians - "Christ-like ones."
Follow His examples.
A Godly life is a "God-centered" life.
BY BEING A WILLING SERVANT.
We serve the greatest King - King Jesus.
Revelation 1:5 - ruler of the kings of the earth.
I Timothy 6:15 - King of kings, Lord of lords.
A king's pride is in his servants.
Matthew 25:14-30 - parable of the talents.
Lord was proud of two.
Displeased with the other.
We show our love to our King Jesus by serving Him and Him alone.
BY BRINGING ALL YOU HAVE INTO THE KINGDOM.
Covetousness is a killer in the church today.
"It's my money. I worked hard for it."
First century church left us an example.
Acts 2:43-45; 4:32-37.
Talent. (Must use all that God has given)
BY PROFESSING HIM TO BE KING IN OUR DAILY LIVES.
Matthew 28:18-20 - Jesus has all authority.
He has the right to make rules; give commands.
Jesus was preached as ruler - Acts 2:36.
Confession is continuous.
We need to let Jesus rule.
Are you crowning the Christ?
