God is to be loved, worshiped, and served with all our heart.
Matthew 5:8 - "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God."
What does heart worship involve?
Thinks - Matthew 9:4 - "Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, 'Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts?'"
Mark 2:8 - reasons - "Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them,
'Why are you thinking these things?'"
Matthew 13:15 - waxed gross - "For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their
eyes. Otherwise, they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them."
Believes - Romans 10:10 - "For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."
John 6:44-47 - taught, heard, learned.
Faith - Romans 10:17 - "Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ".
Despises - II Samuel 6:16 - "As the ark of the Lord was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window.
And when she saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, she despised him in her heart."
Loves - Matthew 22:37 - "Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'"
Repents - because we love God and His goodness.
Intends - Hebrews 4:12 - "For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates
even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."
Obeys - Romans 6:17 - "But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form
of teaching to which you were entrusted."
I Peter 3:16 - "keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in
Christ may be ashamed of their slander."
Baptism - Mark 16:15-16.
Accusing/Excusing - Romans 2:15 - "since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their
consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them."
Pricks - Acts 2:37.
Answers - I Peter 3:21 - "and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also -- not the removal of dirt from the
body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ."
I Peter 1:22 - "Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your
brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart."
Christianity is a religion of the heart.
If all parts of the heart are not active, then the religion is not pure.
